Did you know that Dryer Vents are now considered more of a hazard than chimneys are?  According to the NFPA there are almost 16,000 dryer fires every year that lead to structure fires and even death.  Lint, fiber, dust and debris were found to be the cause of the ignition in most cases, causing the dryer fire.  Because of these statistics, it is becoming even more important to have your dryer vent cleaned and inspected often.  A yearly dryer vent cleaning, similar to chimneys, is highly encouraged.

Air flow in and out of your dryer is key to drying your clothes in a reasonable amount of time.  Your dryer needs to be able to breath in lots of air and it also needs to be able to freely expel the hot and humid air.  If there is any sort of restriction to either of these areas, your dryer will not perform.  

If you are noticing lint build-up on the vent on the exterior of your home, there is a very high chance that there is a significant amount of build up inside the ducts as well.  Play it safe and have us out to your home to clean your dryer vent ducts and give you peace of mind.

Items that will be accomplished include:

• After we introduce ourselves and explain the process, we will get all set up at the dryer, and wherever the termination may be on the exterior of the home.
• Take an air flow measurement from outside before cleaning.
• Full camera inspection of your entire vent run before and after the cleaning.  We will share some of these images with you.
• Cleaning from BOTH the interior and exterior.
• We use HEPA vacuums to be sure we collect all lint and debris.
• Clean the lint trap and below the lint trap with special hoses.
• We clean under and behind the dryer.
• Hose and clamp inspection.
• We finish up with another airflow test to see the improvements made!
• This typically takes about an hour to accomplish.  When we are all done, we will share with you the report we created along with the images of your system.  If any repairs or improvements are needed, this is when we will talk about it.
