Chimney inspection

If you need us for any reason at all, the bare minimum we will do when we show up is a Level 1 inspection.   If you are a new client to us, we have to do a Level 2 inspection.  If you've had your chimney swept in the past, that company should have shared with you their findings of their inspection.  According to the NFPA and the CSIA, anytime a chimney is swept, the chimney technician is required to accomplish a Level 1 inspection, at the very least.  This inspection consists of around 33 different items that should be checked

A Level two inspection is more in depth, requires more work and special tools.

Level 1 Inspection:

• Required with every Chimney sweep and takes longer than the actual sweep.
• Required when replacing an appliance with a new, or similar appliance.
• Depending on the set up, we will check around 33 different items.

Level 2 Inspection:

• Incorporates everything we look for in the Level 1 plus 33 additional items.
• Required when making changes to your system.
• Required upon the sale or transfer of a property.
• Required when there has been damage to the chimney or appliance.
• Required when there has been a chimney fire.
• Required when there has been a seismic event.
• We have to do a Level 2 inspection for new clients.

Level 3 Inspection:

• This level of inspection might be required after conducting a level 1 or Level 2 inspection.  We would conduct a Level 3 inspection when serious hazards are expected in areas that we can only reach by removing components or tearing down walls.  This is very rare and we would only do this as a last resort with the consent of the home owner.
